Jets to Zurich @ The Green Rooms

The final band of the night and the main reason why me and a bunch of other people were hanging out in the middle of an industrial estate on a Saturday night was Jets to Zurich, who were putting on this gig to celebrate the release of their new single Crimson Tide.

Unlike the previous two bands, I’ve experienced the Jets before and as such was looking forward to a good show and generally feeling good, even after being exposed to a particularly disturbing photo and an equally disturbing story ( both of which have been omitted from this review to spare you from any unnecessary mental anguish).

As far as my expectations of a good show were concerned I was not disappointed.

To be perfectly honest, they seem to get better every time I see them, and their set, which included four new songs and a fantastic cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Go Your Own Way, made this a gig I would gladly have paid to see had it not been free.

They have added a member since I last saw them, a new guitarist/keyboardist, which now makes them a four piece (in case you couldn’t do the maths). The addition of the extra guitar makes their sound thicker and louder, and the keys allow for the introduction of synths into their live act.

This was a really cool gig that I enjoyed immensely, the three bands were awesome and the venue was superb.

I was pleasantly surprised by The Green Rooms, it’s a practice studio that does gigs on weekends and a properly professional outfit. It’s got a great atmosphere, friendly people and played host to a gig that couldn’t even be ruined be an oafish Shrek lookalike in a ridiculous pair of white jeans.
