According to their website the On Fires are kangaroo punks who provide their fans with vibrant, Aussie fun.

They are from Australia and are currently touring in the US, and from what I read on their MySpace page are going to be playing in two taverns, a brick house and a grocery store over the next few days.

The song I am reviewing today is called Coming Home. I chose to review this song because it is the one with the most plays on their MySpace page. This is unusual for me, normally I like to start with the least played song, mainly because I think that it’s the most interesting thing to do, but today I don’t have the time so I just chose the most played song.

Lazy? Yep.
Unprofessional? Most definitely.

I have never once been accused of anything to the contrary.

Actually, while writing this I just flicked through the whole song list and the least played one is called Crook Plumbing. Now, if there was ever a song that demanded to be played it was called Crook Plumbing. So I feel compelled to have a listen.

It turns out that Crook Plumbing is a 57 second long, downtempo, reverby, bit of guitar. Not really worth a review, but definitely worth a listen if you find yourself with 57 seconds going spare in the middle of your busy day.

The second least played song is called Precious Injury, which is also worth a listen, and being a full song is also worth a review, but not now, I’ve got a review to write already. I’ll review it next month, let’s say on the 22nd October, OK.

Right then, back to the song for today, Coming Home.

Coming Home is a fast paced rock punk song. The intro is good, it builds up quickly before smashing full speed into song.

I like the hooohhhhooohome bits. (I’m not sure how you spell home when it’s pronounced like that but this is my best attempt)
The whole song is well structured, professionally recorded and most importantly, highly entertaining.

That’s something a lot of bands seem to miss out from their music, entertainment. I really don’t understand why people write and, even worse, release music that is not in anyway entertaining.

By entertaining I don’t just mean upbeat and happy. Sad songs for example, the good ones at least, can be entertaining, it’s just a different, slightly more complicated form of entertainment but it is entertainment none the less.

I getting off topic again but suffice say I like the song and the band very much and I will make sure that I listen to some more of their songs as soon as I have the time, and I suggest that you do the same.
