It has been a while since I have seen the StopMotion Men live, more than a year in fact. At that gig they impressed me greatly but since then, with little further exposure to them, they had simply drifted out of my mind, having been replaced by the multitude of music and other random things that I find myself being bombarded with on a daily basis.

However, something happened the other day that changed that. By complete chance I acquired a copy of their latest EP “What Now?”. A collection of songs which have since found themselves lodged in one of gears of my brain and, for the time being, are completely unable to work themselves free.

The three songs which make up the EP are all different. What Now? is energetic, Spit and Chew is fiercely aggressive and Hurt You is slow, soft and beautiful. While they are all different they all share a deep enigmatic passion which makes them enthralling and emotionally moving.

By the work of the hand of fate, I have found myself, once again, completely captivated by the might and majesty of the StopMotion Men, and if you go and listen to them you will be too.
