Sunshine Satellite - My Faith
Sunshine Satellite are an acoustic duo consisting of Luke Jones and Mitch Casey that create delightfully heartfelt music. They haven’t released their début EP yet so I have decided to create a new section of this site dedicated to Random Track Reviews, and this is the first one of those reviews.
Influenced by good threads, a good pint, pretty ladies and the sunshine; this is a group who take a laid back and easygoing approach to life. And this attitude, when coupled with their outstanding musical virtuosity, gives life to a very pleasing sonic experience.
The sound is soft and delicate, and it would seem that the name Sunshine Satellite is apt because if sunshine could make a sound I think this is probably what it would sound like. And, like the sunshine, at the same time as being soft and delicate it can also be powerful and moving.
“My Faith” is a perfect example of this. It starts off soft and slow, with cool laid back lyrics hovering gracefully over some chilled out guitar, then, towards the end of the song the sound builds up, surrounding you and taking you to your own little world inside your head where you can really get a sense of the genuine feeling and conviction with which the lyrics are sung and the music is played.
Personally, I can’t wait until they release their EP, expect to see a review as soon as they do.
