Sucioperro @ Ten Feet Tall
Sucioperro are a three piece Scottish rock band, and they’re fucking awesome. Their music is hard to describe, and I’m not that good at describing thing anyway, but I’ll give it a go. A good word to describe it would be unconventional, I think. They don’t seem to care what people think and just play the music they want to play, which is a good choice, because the music they want to play is the music people want to hear.
It’s not like anything I’ve heard before, honestly, with the songs going from being slow and subdued to fast and ferocious in a heartbeat making great use of tempo and rhythm changes and it’s evident that they are skilled songwriters and passionate live musicians.
My favourite songs had to be “Don’t Change (What You Can’t Understand)” with its cool catchy beat and lyrics, and “No.273” with its heavy hyper-alternative heavy guitar riffs, pounding drum beat and angry lyrics.
Even though the music was terrific the thing that impressed me most would have to be the reception the crowd gave them, everyone I talked to was telling me how good they were, and when they played everyone was singing along and clapping and cheering and all that stuff that people do when the see or hear something that the like.
They are a great alternative to mainstream music but at the same time that manage to have those cool catchy little hooks that make songs appeal to the masses, but like I said at the beginning the music is hard for me to describe, and I’ve tried my best. The only thing I know for sure is that it is genuinely really good but you should listen for yourself because my crude writing doesn’t really do them justice. Sorry.
